Book Review: Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry

Published July 31st, 2012
Harlequin Teen
392 pages (Hardcover)
No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal.  But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.

Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again. (From Goodreads)
Holy crap, this book is good!  Why did I not read it sooner?

Both Echo and Noah are battling some personal demons that I cannot even begin to fathom, and that's what makes this story so amazing.  They fight adversity and find strength in one another and it is beautiful.  Both characters are very well written, as are many of the secondary characters (although I still don't understand Grace's problem.  Geez girl, you are conceited...).

There has been a lot of hype over this book, and it earned every bit of it.  I found the story touching and enjoyable, barely able to set it down.  If you haven't read Pushing The Limits yet, you should before Dare You To (Beth's story!!!) gets released May 28th.

Much love, Samantha
