Book Review: With All My Soul by Rachel Vincent

Published March 26th, 2013

377 pages (Paperback)
What does it mean when your school is voted the most dangerous in America? It's time to kick some hellion butt...

After not really surviving her junior year (does "undead" count as survival?), Kaylee Cavanaugh has vowed to take back her school from the hellions causing all the trouble. She's going to find a way to turn the incarnations of Avarice, Envy and Vanity against one another in order to protect her friends and finish this war, once and forever.
But then she meets Wrath and understands that she's closer to the edge than she's ever been. And when one more person close to her is taken, Kaylee realizes she can't save everyone she loves without risking everything she has... (From Goodreads)
I'm sad to see this series come to a close, but Rachel Vincent has given us a great ending to Kaylee's story.  With snarky characters and lots of action, this series goes down as a personal favourite of mine.

I absolutely love these characters, but two stood out to me: Tod and Sabine.  Tod is just perfect.  He made me cry twice with his epic monologues of love!  Seriously, you can't not swoon over this guy.  Sabine, on the other hand, is the perfect fiery ball of snark.  I love her no-bullshit attitude, and find her the most interesting to read.  Watching her grow through the series has been great, and part of the reason the I love this series so much.

A lot had to be jammed into this book in order to conclude the series.  At times, this created a slight problem for me.  Parts of the story got a bit too slow for my tastes.  It needed to be done, but still.

This series is jammed full of action and drama, and that makes for a great story.  If you haven't given the Soul Screamer books a chance, I recommend doing so.  Rachel Vincent is an awesome story teller.  I can't wait to give this series a reread in the future!

Much love, Samantha
