December Recap!

Let's start with a quickie recap of 2013.  Overall, not my greatest reading year, but it wasn't awful.  I read a lot of great books, but also dealt with several looonnng ruts where nothing appealed to me!
Back to December.  I love December.  I think it's the holiday spirit that's in the air.  I wish people were like this all year round.  Imagine a world with this much magic and spirit and love.  I would like to live there.  December also offers a time to reflect and look ahead to a new year.  2014 is going to be a big year for me, and I cannot wait for it to get here!
I took this photo after the ice storm that hit us here in Southern Ontario.  No joke, I was carving three inches of solid ice off of my car, which was conveniently located underneath a tree threatening to break apart.  I should also mention how close those branches were to my neighbor's's power lines.  We were lucky in my neck of the woods, and my power was only out for about 4 hours, with a couple of flickers here and there.  Some people were without power for over a week.  Hopefully everyone is doing better now!

Alright, to the books.  I did a good bit of reading this month, but most of it was series reading.  Curse you, Amazon one-click buying...  I really don't have a favourite.  I enjoyed most of these this month!
What was your favourite read from this past month and what are your plans for New Year's Eve tonight?  I'll be at a country bar wishing I was on my couch with a fuzzy blanket!

November Recap

Ah, November.  If I had a least favourite month, it would likely be you.
This here is why.  School dominates the month.  But I'm done!  I'm on winter break and only have one semester left in my undergrad.  I'M ALMOST A REAL PERSON GUYS!

Not a lot went down this month, but it's officially cold and snowy here.  The Christmas lights are up and it feels like the holidays.  Out with November, in with December!
What?  Not a country song?  Back in my early teen years, I loved Fall Out Boy.  I finally listed to their newest album Save Rock and Roll and I've been playing it non-stop.  Every song is fantastic.

Now, onto the good stuff.  Considering my lack of time, I did some good reading this month.  I made it count too, and really enjoyed each of these.  My reviews of Sentinel and A Little Too Much are already posted, with the rest coming up soon!

October Recap

I can't say I'm a fan of October.  I'm a fan of fall and pumpkin spice lattes, but October offers me very little.  Seriously, Halloween does nothing for me.  Hockey's back, which is nice.  Okay, so there are things about October that I kinda like, but...
There was a lot of school and placement, and not much reading (for pleasure).  I will be done placement by mid-month, and school by the end of the month, and then I swear I am going on a reading binge.  I SWEAR!  That being said, I've almost completed my Goodreads challenge of 75 books.  I think that's pretty reasonable considering how much time my education takes up.

I'm sorry, but it's been yet another month of Luke Bryan on repeat.  I can't help it!  His voice is heveanly!

Okay, onto the point of today's post...
