I like to make lists, which is likely why I love this meme so much. So since I love lists, I had a lovely sticky note gadget thing or my laptop with a beautiful list of books I am eager to read this summer.
And my laptop crashed this morning.
Don't worry, when my dad and I went to price a new laptop tonight, I found an amazing steal and am currently typing up this post on my new laptop. My bank account isn't as pleased...
But this all means I lost my beautiful list. So for my Top Ten Books On My Summer TBR List, I am kind of choosing random ones I remember.
- The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith: I have been wanting to read this book for a while now, and finally got my hands on a copy! It's likely what I'm going to read next!
- Of Poseidon by Anna Banks: Another book I finally got my hands on!
- Drop Dead Healthy by A.J. Jacobs: He's like Morgan Spurlock in book format, and I've been eyeing his newest book for a while.
- The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han: Another book sitting on my shelf, screaming my name.
- The Fault In Our Stars by John Green: Because I think I'm the only person left who hasn't read it?
- Grave Mercy by R.L. LeFevers: Assassins. Enough said.
- A Million Stars by Beth Revis: Expect a review soon confessing my intense (in a good way) feelings about Across The Universe.
- Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl: This is another series I have heard good things about but still need to read.
- Marked by Elizabeth Naughton: To add some grown-up material to the list.
- Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi: When one person tells me a book is amazing, and then another tells me it is awful, I'm always intrigued. Is that weird?
Obviously this list isn't all the books on my former laptops TBR list, but some of the first that popped into my head. What is on your summer TBR list?
Much love, Samantha
I've read 6 out of the 10. YAY! And here's what I would say: Grave Mercy is absolutely amazing and even though the book is huge it really goes by quickly.
ReplyDeleteStatistical Probability of Love is a great beach, read outdoors book.
Shatter Me! Ah! You are in for some intensity.
I've got The Summer I Turned Pretty on my list as well.
My Top Ten Tuesday
Only read two on this list (Grave Mercy and Beautiful Creatures), but several are on my TBR. I'm waiting on The Fault in our Stars from the public library. I keep hearing about that one!
ReplyDeleteI've read numbers 2, 5, 8, and 10 and really enjoyed all of them, so you're in for a good time. Grave Mercy and A Million Stars are both on my lists, though I think we have differing opinions on Across the Universe ^_^
ReplyDeleteThe fault in our stars....love! Have kleenex handy though. I plan to read the summer I turned pretty as well. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI've already read #1 and #3 this summer--and LOVED both! I didn't list #5, but it is also on my list this summer. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI love the books by A.J. Jacobs! I've only read The Know It All and The Year of Living Biblically but they were hysterical AND informative!
ReplyDeleteI assume that first one is fiction, but it would also make for provocative nonfiction title! Seems like a strong way to set up a plot, though. :)
ReplyDeleteAn interesting list! I'm excited to read Grave Mercy. And you're not the *only* one; I haven't read A Fault in Our Stars yet either.
ReplyDeleteI am interested to hear what you think about Beautiful Creatures. I liked the first one, but BOY I COULD NOT get into any of the sequels!
ReplyDeleteYou will adore TFiOS. DFTBA!
I continue to be intrigued by Of Poseidon. I guess I'll have to order it. So sorry to hear about your computer crash but happy you were able to get up and running so quickly. I'm a major Sticky fan, myself. My computer guy laughs when he comes because I always have a rather lengthy to-do list on the screen waiting for him. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou've got some really good books on your list. TFiOS is so excellent, I can't wait for you to read it! Also, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight was very cute. :D
ReplyDeleteI want to read Beautiful Creatures and Shatter Me is on my list as well! Happy reading.
This is the first I've heard of "The Fault in Our Stars", but I like the title. A reference to The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, I think.
ReplyDeleteOooh, lots of fabulous books on your list! The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han is marvelous, as is Beautiful Creatures and the rest of that series. I also hope to read Of Poseidon this summer. Thanks for stopping by!
