TGIF (1): Throwback?

TGIF is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger over at GReads!  She asks a question, and everyone can get involved!

This is my first TGIF!  So, naturally, it is a week to go back and revisit a past TGIF.  I have none.  So I opted to go back and do the very first TGIF question.

Sadly, it was quite specific (and about February), so I decided to do the second question!

Are you an organized reader?  Or do you just pick up whatever book sparks your interest at that moment?

I am a little of both.  I like to make lists, so I have bunch of "to-read" lists and lists of release dates.  That's about where the organization ends.

I pick up whatever sounds good at that moment.  I try to rotate between eBooks and print, but really have no system.  For example, yesterday I had quite the internal debate on whether to start Anna Dressed In Blood or Darkness Falls, and I have no idea what I will tackle next.

How about you guys?  Are you organized readers?  Any tips for me?

Much love, Samantha

  1. I have my humongously long list of to-read books on Goodreads, and yet I always find myself picking a book NOT on my list. And then I just add more! I'm way disorganized!

    New follower! Love the blog!

    1. I basically gave up on using the "to-read" list on Goodreads. I'll stick to pen and paper!

  2. I'm like you. I have lists of books I want to read, but that is where my organization ends. I am one of those people who picks up whatever sounds good when it comes to choosing books. I have no idea how people plan out what they are going to read each month.

    1. I know, eh? For example, I just finished Darkness Falls, but decided I didn't want to read Anna Dressed in Blood next. I'm now reading Obsidian. Not exactly organized train of thought there...

  3. Lists. I think my relationship with Lists (yeah, capitalized..) is really dysfunctional. I can't do without, and it ain't healthy anymore. :DD

  4. I usually just fly by the seat of my pants and pick up whatever I feel like reading next! I try to mix in the different genres so I get a little variety in there... I'm going to have to make a list TONIGHT because I just realized I have at least two books that I have to read by next weekend for blog tours and I'm starting a read-along next week too. What did I get myself into?! lol

    1. Yikes! Good luck! But still, being organized is over-rated! ;-)

  5. Not at all! My biggest problem is debating on which book to read. Unfortunately, or forturnately, depending on how you look at it, I have too many TBR Books on my Kindle. It's quite sad actually.

    1. Such a good problem to have though! I try to avoid putting new books onto my Kobo until I am reading them.

  7. I'm not very systematic about my reading, though that has to change soon since I'll be moving and need to get through all the books I have left in the apartment ;)
